Moccasin Footprints is the web site for Native American Ministries of the TN Conference United Methodist Church. Our ministry was created in the late 1980's with a particular focus on urban ministries with Native Americans as one of the goals. Over 60% of Native Americans live away from reservations. A move after WWII was to bus natives off the reservations to large cities, thus adding to the trauma of losing more cultural and traditional identity.
The TN Conference CONAM (Committee on Native American Ministries) has been committed and active in working with the Native American Community, the local church and the community at large.
We focus on partnering with local churches. Understanding through education is one of our top goals.
