Moccasin Footprints is the web site for Native American Ministries (known as CONAM) of the Tennessee-Western Kentucky Conference of the United Methodist Church . Our ministry was created nation-wide in the late 1980's with a particular focus on urban ministries with Native Americans. At that time, over 60% of Native Americans live away from their reservations. A move after WWII bussed American Indians 'off the reservations' to large cities. This added to the trauma of losing more cultural and traditional identity, thus "urban ministry". Within the Tennessee-Western Kentucky Conference, we have large rural areas, therefore our focus is not only urban areas. We commit to being a part of all communities, within the local church and the communities.
