Moccasin Footprints is the web site for Native American Ministries (known as CONAM) of the Tennessee-Western Kentucky  Conference of the United Methodist Church .  Our ministry was created in the late 1980's with a particular focus on urban ministries with Native Americans as one of the goals.  Over 60% of Native Americans live away from their reservations.  A move after WWII bussed American Indians  'off the reservations' to large cities. This added to the trauma of losing more cultural and traditional identity, thus "urban ministry".  Within the Tennessee-Western Kentucky Conference, we have large rural areas, therefore our  focus is not only urban areas. We commit to being a part of all communities, within the local church and the communities.

Currently we are adding new content and updating our site to be more interactive.  Stay tuned!

The Conference CONAM (Committee on Native American Ministries) has been committed and active in working with the Native American Community, the local church and the community at large.

> Partnering with local churches.
> Understanding through education.
> Presence  in, with and around the Native American community.
> Presence in the community at large.
>Partnering with organizations that work directly with Native Americans and educational endeavors.
